Beverly McClellan is a contestant who competed on Season 1 of The Voice and a member of Team Christina. Her blind audition of the Big Brother and The Holding Company song "Piece Of My Heart" turned two chairs.
The Voice[]
Beverly McClellan was a contestant on Season 1 of The Voice. For her audition she sang "Piece of My Heart" and Adam and Christina turned around. She chose Christina. In The Battle Rounds, Beverly was paired against Justin Grennan and sang "Baba O'Riley." Beverly moved on to The Live Shows and Justin was eliminated. In The Live S hows Beverly first sang "I'm the Only One" and was saved by America. Next she sang, "The Thrill is Gone" and moved on to The Final Four. In The Final Four Beverly sang, an original song "Lovesick." She got 3nd runner-up.

Post The Voice & Death[]
During her time on The Voice, most of her covers and original song managed to chart on the Billboard charts. Her finale duet with coach Christina Aguilera of Beautiful peaked at #74 on the US chart, while her original Lovesick and semi final performance of The Thrill Is Gone charted on the Billboard Bubbling Under Chart, at #111 and #123 respectively. She found better chart success on the Canadian chart, where her blind audition song, Piece Of My Heart, peaked at #63 on the Canadian Hot 100, while her semi final performance of The Thrill Is Gone peaked on the chart at #71, and original Lovesick charted at #42.
Prior to The Voice, Beverly had released 5 independent albums. In 2011, Beverly released her album, "Fear Nothing", after her time on the show. She also recorded lead vocals for the song "John the Revelator" on Steve Vai's 2012 album The Story of Light, and toured with Vai the same year.
Beverly McClellan died on October 30, 2018, at the age of 49 from endometrial cancer.
