Bria Kelly is a singer from Smithfield, Virginia who was a contestant on season six of The Voice. She is also a contestant in Season 7 of America's Got Talent.

Background

Despite her young age, Bria has performed the national anthem more than 40 times and has opened for Miranda Lambert. She's currently the front woman for her own band, and now that her mother has recovered from a nearly fatal illness, Bria is ready to take her career to the next level.

During her time on The Voice, she became close friends with Tess Boyer and the late Christina Grimmie.

Since appearing on The Voice, Bria has revealed via social media that she is gay. She was engaged to her fiancé, Brianna Renee Cain, but their relationship has since ended.

The Voice

Bria (17 at the time) auditioned for The Voice with a performance of "Steamroller Blues" by James Taylor, turning all four chairs. Her performance was praised by all judges, and eventually chose Usher as her coach. In the Battle Rounds, Bria sang against Tess Boyer, performing "Piece of My Heart" by Janis Joplin. Once again receiving positive feedback, Usher chose Bria to advance to the Battle Rounds 2. Bria was paired against Madilyn Paige for the next set of the battles, the two singing "I'll Stand by You" by The Pretenders. Shakira noted her clever use of dynamics, but Adam Levine said he "desired more" from the pair. Eventually, Usher chose Bria to advance to the Playoffs and represent Team Usher.
