Chairs Turned
|
Janice Freeman was a contestant on The Voice Season 13 and a member of Team Miley. Her blind audition of Will champlin
song "Radioactive" turned two chairs.
She was eliminated in the Top 11 round after she fell into the Bottom Two, and did not receive enough Instant Save votes to be saved, with Team Adam member Adam Cunningham being saved instead.
She died on March 2, 2019 at the age of 33.
Before The Voice[]
"When Janice was 21 years old, her daughter, Hannah, was born. A few years later, when her daughter was only four, Hannah's father passed away from cancer. It was really tough being a single mom, but it taught her how to be strong. Janice needed the strength because in 2012 she was diagnosed with cervical cancer. She fought it and survived. In the midst of all the tragedy, she met her wonderfully supportive husband. They have been married for two years, and he even gigs locally with her and her band. Having gone through so much, she is so thankful to be cancer-free and happily married, but needs this shot at a music career to provide stability for Hannah."

Trivia[]
- When her blind audition performance of "Radioactive" was uploaded to The Voice's YouTube channel, the video incorrectly titled the song as "Radioactive Soul". The title was fixed two days later.
- The error would become a minor internet meme for fans of Janice, with comments from fans on all future performances claiming that she "slayed their radioactive souls"
- Her choice of blind audition song can be seen as ironic, noting that Janice is a cancer survivor, undergoing treatment for cervical cancer in 2012.
- Unfortunately, Janice passed away from pulmonary embolism on Saturday, March 2, 2019.
